@meena Thank you so much for your reply. Yes, I also wondered about the Amazon button! That is what made me wary in the first place. Well, I will certainly look into Kubuntu!
@alternative_be in theory this should be extremely illegal in Europe, but we only know this since May 25*.
maybe 18.04 doesn't do that?
(and anyway, i've always used Kubuntu for the last ~6 years because of the changes made to gnome by Canonical seemed unusable to me, and then the amazon thing came along)
