Regarding Facebook tracking non-users Mark Zuckerberg said "This kind of data collection is fundamental to how the internet works."
I'm not a networking expert but I know enough to be able to confidently say that nothing at all about this data collection is fundamental to how the Internet works. I guess he was using Silicon Valley speak where "the internet" means "huge corporations who make most of their money by selling ads and illegally collecting as much data as possible".
I love how fast people get accepted here. There's a sense of community that I haven't felt before :)
It's incredible how many people support Facebook even after it blatantly admitted on distributing data to not just Cambridge Analytica, but a variety of other metadata collecting firms. And the fact this is probably the 10th time Zuckerberg has "apologized" about some mistake. Never trust your data with corporations, or entities that make profit for self gain of their cause in general. Proud to be on Mastodon. 
Going to become more active on Mastodon. Have been giving it much neglect lately.
