I thought :ubuntu: #Ubuntu 18.04 was released today, but couldn't find anything on https://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop. Delayed or ... oh no it's here: http://releases.ubuntu.com/bionic/

Upgrading my desktop tomorrow.

@jeroenpraat, hey :) I heard they're ditching Unity and switching to GNOME shell. Which is the default in 18.04 LTS? If it's GNOME shell, is Unity still at least installable? (I've come to like Unity. I'm a weirdo, I know.)

I like Gnome 3 much more than Unity. Before #Ubuntu's switch to Gnome 3, I already used the Ubuntu Gnome distribution.

But you don't have to worry; #Unity is still available. Read here:

@jeroenpraat A tricky thing is that I've set Ubuntu up for family and friends, and without exception they're happy with it. I don't much like the idea of inflicting big changes.

@trm I had the same, but installed Ubuntu Mate for these cases.
