[En]Amsterdam has a new mayor, Groen Links party lid Femke Halsema. First time in a looooooong time it's not someone from PvdA, and first woman to fulfill this role.

Someone counted, apparently there's been 1500 mayors (since 1343) in Amsterdam, and this makes the first woman. (and apparently we used to have 4 mayors at a time, one of which would stay until the next year, with 3 new ones being chosen each year? fascinating)
