@paulfree14 @deadsuperhero It's a thoughtful post and I like that about it. It gets some things very wrong though, particularly around addressing: ActivityPub does support private messaging and addressing diaspora-like aspects, that was baked in from the start, and one of the primary goals behind AP's design. Much more to say... will have to be a full blogpost probably.

...yeah I guess it's very important to get the parts that are missunderstood corrected as early as possible.
@paulfree14 I feel like there is a lot of « not invented here » in this article. About things that where deliberately left blurry in order to encourage flexibility and self-regulation.
Like « There are no birthday field » => Well if someone wants to add a birthday field on a Person they can do it and if other find that this is a good idea they might do it as well.
