@paulfree14 I guess I am old enough to remember small town America. I'm 41 years old. As a youngster, I remember the police being super friendly. They'd stop by and play stick ball with us. Those days are gone.

@mindnmotion @paulfree14 Point being that that particular experience with police has never been available to more than a subset of the population, and that subset has never been defined by being "law abiding".
@seanl @paulfree14 Most definitely. I failed to consider urban policing and the difference in styles as evidenced in geographic locations.
@paulfree14 I remember when police were peace officers and not law enforcement officers. Peace officers left you alone unless you were raising hell. These days they bother law abiding citizens.
